Since its founding in January 2017, #movethedial has gained a tremendous amount of momentum. We have a large and growing number of leading Canadian corporate and technology partners, and are supported by over 50 leading technology ecosystem advisors.
Our impact to date:
Built a community of 4000+;
Launched global #movethedial Stories program intended to inspire, empower and connect through events and an online media hub;
Built a volunteer advisory of 50+ senior leaders and have engaged an advocate community of 150+ individuals;
Hosted ten events to date ( our first convened 1,000+ people, including the largest group of women in tech in Canada with over 500 women);
Elevate Toronto Tech festival in September hosted 3,000 attendees and featured 40% female speakers on panels through a partnership with #movethedial
Take Over Conference, another tech conference, welcomed 850 attendees and featured 52% women speakers on panels
Toronto Mayor John Tory pledged to attend events featuring diverse panels inspired by #movethedial
Through a #movethedial campaign, we saw a 400% increase in female founder nominations in Toronto for C100, a non-profit, member-driven association of Canadian thought leaders in the San Francisco Bay Area committed to supporting and accelerating the innovation economy in Canada
